SoundStage by AirSqare

The World's Lowest Carbon SoundStages & Film Studios:

Clear Spans up to 70m / 230ft wide with no construction wast and zero concrete

AirSqare uses proven materials in new ways to create high efficiency, low carbon structures with huge advantages.

Robust & flexible - unlimited configurations:

The AirSqare SoundStage can be configured to maximize width up to 250’, height up to 120’ and unlimited length.

A typical 25,000 sf AirSqare SoundStage is assembled from  40 interlocking AirSqares - frames of structural steel supporting pressurized pockets of engineered vinyl. Using proven materials in innovative ways the result is a building that is both robust and light, strong and flexible with a Noise Reduction Coefficient near 1.

Impossibly Green: ultra-low carbon footprint

AirSqare structures are impossibly green. They achieve an ultra low 60lbCO2e/ft2 by a series of engineering innovations that greatly reduce material weights, construction waste and embodied carbon to produce a structure with extremely low environmental impact.

  • zero concrete: these structures have no concrete walls and no concrete foundations;

  • anchors and piles: AirSqare structures are supported by rock anchors and/or helical pile systems;

  • 30% less steel: interlocking frames are more efficient than conventional trusses, plates and studs

  • replaceable parts: vinyl cells are easily repairable, recyclable and  individually replaceable if necessary;

  • zero concrete floor: provided by a heavy duty cam-locking modular floor system (recyclable composites)

Engineered for Extreme Conditions:
A Post-Diasaster Community Shelter:

The combination of interlocking steel frames and helical pile / rock anchor system provides structural flexibility that makes AirSqare resilient to earthquakes and stable in floods. The vinyl covering is resistant to fire and the whole structure is inherently safe and suitable as a post disaster shelter for the community. This alone makes AirSqare a structure that puts safety first for building employees and community residents.

The original AirSqares were developed for construction and mining applications in northern Canada, to be impervious to extreme weather and keep crew inside safe, warm and productive.

  • snow load: ground load up to 100lb/sf  [5 kN/m2]

  • wind load: 3s gusts up to 100mph  [160 km/hr]

  • containerized and multiuse design, redeployable worldwide

  • onsite assembly is ready for occupancy in just weeks
